Just a quick note to say your strategy of writing a letter to Betty in Fort Mill, SC worked. She called me on Saturday and we talked on Saturday and Sunday at length. She was very glad to hear from me after having searched for me for years. It's been quite moving to make contact and I have found out some surprising things. For example, my great-grandmother was full-blooded Cherokee. I had no idea I had Native American blood in me!
