Paul,
Recently a friend asked about whom I'd used to find my biological family, and I referred them to you. After reading some of your testimonials, I just wanted to say that you were the most instrumental person in finding mine and my husbands biological families a few years ago. ( we were both adopted). I thought I would share that originally my birth mother denied consent to meet me, and you gave me information that took me right to where she was. For many years I did not contact her, respecting her wishes, but Christmas two years ago, my husband finally got fed up with the fact that I hadn't gotten to meet her though I knew where she was. He walked
up to her door with a picture and she finally agreed to meet me. When
I found her, she was in horrible health and poverty, lonely, and had spent many
years punishing herself for her life. It turned out that she had not
married, but had always lived with and loved my biological father who'd passed in '93. I have since made connections with my entire huge family. The family had been torn apart in their late teens because their mother
had died and they'd all lost contact with one another. The help you gave
me made it possible to find ALL of her 7 brothers and sisters and some
40 cousins. She's now dealt with the health issues and gotten some help
and has a new life. We have now had 2 family reunions, and so much
healing has taken place for my entire family. My adopted family has
integrated with them, and it has been a wonderful, though emotional, ride for
the last few years. We are now trying to research my grandmother's
history, since she too was adopted. We may be giving you another call!
My husband also got to meet a sister who lives about 10 minutes away
from us! His relationship with his mother has been a bit more
difficult, but there is at least contact and many questions answered.
I was so caught up, I am not sure that I ever thanked you for what
you did to help us.
Gina
