About This Service

Hello, my name is Paul Brown. I am an adoptee, and I found both my parents myself. I located both of them in three months and two days, from the time I started looking.

When I began my search thirty-six years after I was adopted, I had no names and few ideas where to begin. I found my mother even though she had married twice, had eight different addresses, and had moved 800 miles from where I was born. She is a retired school teacher who has become a loving mother to me and a wonderful grandparent to my chidren. My father had died, but I have five half brothers with whom I've made friends. Because of this initial search for my roots, I learned the procedures to help others find their parents in an efficient and timely manner.

When I do these searches I get so obsessed with finding the parents that I think about the solutions to the puzzle every day and night, and I refuse to give up. I put myself in the parents' shoes and figure out what they would have done and where they would have gone. I come up with resources, and I have had solutions within hours. I really surprise myself sometimes.

Every adoptee that I have helped has been amazed as to my capabilities. One lady was going to an adoption support group for three months with no success and she asked me to help her. Within a week I found her parents. Unfortunately, they had died in South America. However, she had many cousins and relatives on her mothers side. She was adopted in 1940 and wasn't told until three years ago. One fellow locally had been looking for his father since 1968. He had me find him, and it took the better part of the week. I also found his aunts and uncles and mother and grandmother.

A current case I just finished involved traveling to Michigan where I progressed from the information about his dead grandfather to finding his maternal grandmother, finally meeting his birth mother, birth father, and his two full sisters. This changed the quality of his life.

My strong points are finding the parents and finding them fast. I hope this informal page lets you know a little about my service.

Thank You,

Paul Brown
